Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 2026.

This Cookie Policy explains how Point of AI uses cookies and similar technologies, what we store, and how you control it. We keep this list short on purpose: almost everything we store stays on your device and is never sent to us.

What cookies are

Cookies are small data files placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Alongside them, sites can use local storage and session storage, which hold data in your browser in much the same way. Where this policy says "cookies", it covers all of these.

What we actually store

Two things, both in your browser's local storage, and neither is transmitted to our servers:

  • theme: whether you chose the light or dark colour scheme, so the site does not flash the wrong one on your next visit.
  • poai-cookie-consent: your answer to the cookie banner, plus the date you gave it, so we do not ask again on every page.

Both are strictly necessary for the site to behave the way you asked it to, and neither identifies you.

Analytics

If you accept analytics cookies, we load Google Analytics to understand which articles and tools people find useful. It is configured with IP anonymisation, and it measures pages and visits in aggregate, not individuals.

Nothing analytics-related loads until you accept. The script is not requested, and no analytics cookies are set, if you reject or ignore the banner. Rejecting costs you nothing: every part of the site works identically either way.

What we do not do

To be explicit, because many sites in this category do the opposite:

  • We do not serve advertising, and we set no advertising cookies.
  • We do not build advertising or marketing profiles about you.
  • We do not sell or share personal information.
  • We do not track which tools you click across sessions.
  • We use no social media tracking pixels.

Some outbound links to AI tools are affiliate links. Those are handled by the destination site after you leave ours. See our Affiliate Disclosure for how that works.

Changing your mind

Your choice is not permanent. Clearing your browser's site data for this domain removes both stored values and brings the cookie banner back, so you can answer it differently.

You can also control cookies in your browser's settings, where you can block them entirely, block third-party cookies only, delete existing cookies, or have them cleared each time you close the browser. In Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge this lives under privacy or security settings.

If you block everything, the site still works. You will simply get the default colour scheme and the cookie banner on each visit, because the preferences that would remember your choices are the very things being blocked.

Third-party services

Our hosting provider and content delivery network may set cookies needed to serve and secure the site, for example load balancing and abuse prevention. These are operational rather than tracking cookies.

Pages on this site link out to AI tools operated by other companies. Once you follow such a link, that company's own cookie and privacy practices apply, not ours. We would encourage you to read them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the site or to legal requirements. The "last updated" date above always shows the current version, and significant changes will be signalled on the site itself.
